The Ungodly Universe:
“Do you know what really grinds my gears?”
For the note, I am a true Believer in God and Christ… But I am also a scholar at heart, which means I’m also a believer in the study of science… OMG, did he say science? He must be an atheist *In a Religious tone of voice*
Before I begin with this “unGodly” thought, I would like to display an actual conversation I had with a good friend of mine
Friend:Nelvin lol but seriously, do you believe in aliens?? Lol
Me: Yes… I believe that there is more than what the eye can see… I mean, we’ve never seen God, but we know he exists. What I’m saying is that we don’t always have to prove the inevitable… Just know of the possibility.
Friend: Idk man, don’t you think it’s kind of like slapping the human race in the face or worse even God?
Me: No… Ok, are you saying because God only created earth, then he isn’t responsible for anything that is not made from Earth? Wow that’s a good question…. But I do believe in evolution; there is proof that human and animals have changed over time, and who’s to say how we looked like back in those times. The bible says that man was created in his image, but do we know Gods image?
Friend: We were created in God’s image Nelvin, do you really think that he looked or looks like a monkey?? I mean don’t get me wrong I believe in evolution too but of animals not humans, and that’s due to adaptation and crossbreeding and such and as far as aliens go I honestly don’t believe in them lol I’m sorry but I stand firm on the belief that we are the only human or human-like species in the universe meaning as far as talking and opposable thumbs.
Me: Ok, and explain the Cavemen/Neanderthal bone structures that were found?
Friend: Man those were monkeys, just another species of primates! Ugly ones too…
That above ^ conversation is the norm when dealing with the average Christian believer which is completely understandable. As a Christian we are taught at early age to be “closed minded”, because “open mindedness” could get you a hot date with Lucifer….. ß Now don’t get me wrong, I do believe that an “ignorant open mind” is dangerous {compared to ——-> “educated open mind.”
Disclaimer: My friend^ is an “educated open minded person…” Just speaking in general…..
It is apparent that our conversation was sparked by the question: Do I believe in Aliens?
My answer: “Yes… I believe that there is more than what the eye can see…” etc. ^^^^ meaning, Aliens in my opinion could be any organism on a planet other than earth….
Thanks for visiting my blog. This type of thinking like your friend is why I am writing as I want the world to realize that the acceptance of science is not the refusal of religion. I don’t know about aliens but the laws of nature as they are called had to be created and I believe God created them. If there are aliens, then they to were the outcome of the laws of nature.
Posted by Evolution Man | January 15, 2012, 5:19 pmHey bro. Appreciate you following my blog — I welcome all seekers of knowledge, wisdom, and truth!
This post here is very insightful my friend. A few years ago I participated in a debate night called “Grab A Brew”. It was held regulary every Thursday. The purpose was to bring those of all different beliefs together. However, what ended up happening after a few months was the hard-core atheist/darwinists made a bid essentially, to “out-preach” the evangelical Christians. They eventually went their separate ways, but it was an interesting experiement. It’s just that in the end, “true-believers” of every faith don’t compromise (including atheists), and those who have a mixture of beilefs are often termed “wishy-washy”. So your experience with your friend doesn’t surprise me.
Nonetheless, though we cannot change anyone, we can show them the doorways to new understandings. if they are truly seeking the knowledge, and are ready for it, they will walk into the light toward change and learn the wisdom of the universe.

Posted by Onleilove | June 25, 2012, 2:40 pmI am a born again Christian as well, but I also believe in Science. What I mean is, God created all things and let’s face it, WE are science. He knew that we would be curious and he gave us the wisdom to seek out these answers. I also believe in evolution, how can you not, its all around us. With that being said, I believe that God created evolution because he knew that our world would change and we would have to adapt to it. If that makes me “unreligious” then so be it. I don’t consider myself “religious” I see myself as a believer in the one and only God. I follow God with my heart and soul and I don’t try to rationalize it with rituals and ceremony. There is nothing wrong with being a follower of Christ and a believe in science.
On another note, I think you have a great blog here and I enjoy reading your writing. Keep up the good work. I can’t wait to read more.
God Bless
Amanda
